When furnishing the Schädlich practice in Straelen, North Rhine-Westphalia, with modern office, waiting room and administrative furniture, we focused on the open and bright design of the rooms. The practice is located in a modern new building, which allows a lot of daylight into the reception and waiting area through particularly high panoramic windows. We followed this guiding theme with the custom-made practice furnishings and manufactured bright, straightforward, and yet comfortable furniture for the doctor’s office.
Medical practices are a place where the restlessness of patients and the cool practical experience of doctors collide. Schädlich’s pneumology practice places a high priority on relieving the stress that preoccupies its patients before a procedure. A serene ambiance, designed in soft colors with understated natural decorations, conveys clinical competence and confidence.
We have put together a custom practice interior that is both functional and visually appealing. For example, visitors are greeted in the reception area by a bright oak and engineered wood reception desk, which is the focal point of the room thanks to direct lighting from modern pendant lights and indirect lighting from the filing cabinets. The modern filing cabinet is clearly structured in its design and provides space for files, accessories, and office supplies.
A modern steel string staircase in the stairwell breaks with the straight lines of the house and is finished off with glass knobs that reflect the entire stairwell. These lively accents are also reflected in the pastel colors we chose for treatment and waiting rooms. Instead of a pure white, they invite you to linger in light shades of sand, old rose and restrained green. The furniture for the doctor’s office also repeats these tones instead of clear contrasts.
It was important to the team at Schädlich’s practice that the custom practice furniture offer plenty of storage space. In a group practice of this size, there are many files, and a correspondingly large number of medical accessories are required. That is why all the furniture for the medical practice contains sufficient drawers and compartments for small and large items, folders, and equipment. All the materials used for surfaces and covers in the pulmonary doctor’s office are also easy to clean, to be fully equipped for everyday medical use.
For painted furniture for the doctor’s office, we resorted to frosted fronts to guarantee soft lighting. In addition, we implemented a lighting concept that uses daylight in all rooms, but also avoids fatigue while waiting and in the treatment rooms during the dark season and in gloomy weather. The LED strips integrated into the furniture for the medical practice are perfect for viewing specimens, tissues, and photographs in a natural light. The custom practice furniture has been extremely well received by the patients and the team itself.
